Abstract

Twelve fungicides were compared with chlorothalonil, thiabendazole and benomyl for activity against Verticillium fungicola on mushroom crops. Triforine, dimethirimol and tridemorph were phytotoxic, but prochloraz, tridemorph and a carbendazim/maneb mixture (“Delsene M”) gave significantly higher yields of healthy mushrooms than untreated controls. Healthy yields from prochloraz and “Delsene M” treatment were greater than from chlorothalonil, but some formulations of prochloraz were phytotoxic and “Delsene M” discoloured treated mushrooms.
