Abstract
This paper describes a result of a fundermantal study on harmonics in a circulating current of a 500Hz MMC. 500Hz MMC is a promising converter for the power transmission from an off-shore Wind Farm. However, because of limitation of switching frequency of power switching device used for the converter, it has a problem of lower even order harmonics. The effect of time step range and carrier frequency of PWM controller and harmonics suppression by the insertion of blocking filter are studied in this paper.
