Abstract

The purpose of the study - individually author's peculiarities of using names borrowed from folklore in an artistic text (on the material novels V. Kozhelyanko defileadnogo cycle). Research methods - observation, induction, deduction, descriptive, contextual-interpretative and component analysis. Scientific novelty. The specificity of V. Kozhelyanko’s use of proprietary lexicon represents the peculiarities of using proper names in the “alternative history” genre. Analysis of the functioning of proper names, borrowed from folklore, his novels will contribute to a deeper understanding of the features of imperative in modern Ukrainian postmodern prose. Findings. The names, borrowed from folklore, functionally and stylistically loaded in the novels of the “defiled” cycle of V. Kozhelyanko, help the writer to show the character of the character, to create the world of “alternative” Ukraine.
