Abstract

Abstract In Uganda, Only few kilometers of low volume traffic roads can be sealed in a financial year due to low IPF for road maintenance and this makes hand crushing of the chippings possible as only a small quantity will be required. Before any chippings are used as a surfacing material, it must be analyzed for its functional suitability and also to reduce cost, the haulage distances should be short. Hand crushed samples from the above quarries were taken and analyzed for their suitability. All the parameters analyzed except a few for Ngeta were within the permissible limits.
