Abstract

Objective To study the status of functional impairment and influencing factors of patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI).Methods A total of 50 MCI patients were recruited in this study.They completed the demographic questionnaire,the Functional Activities Questionnaire (FAQ).And they were received the nursing intervention.Results After the intervention,total scores of FAQ of MCI patients were significantly lower than that before[(4.24 ± 2.01) vs (2.60 ± 1.27) ; t =7.553 ; P < 0.01)].Scores of five FAQ items such as using bills [(0.62 ± 0.49) vs (0.84 ± 0.65)],paying bills [(0.42 ± 0.50) vs (0.86 ±0.75)],preparing meals [(0.00 ± 0.00) vs (0.08 ± 0.27)],understanding new things [(0.38 ± 0.49) vs (0.56 ± 0.50)],remembering appointments [(0.74 ± 0.44) vs (1.28 ± 0.57)],and going out alone [(0.40 ± 0.49) vs (0.68 ± 0.47)] were decreased than before (t =3.070,4.831,2.064,2.909,5.915,3.694,respectively;P <0.01).Age,education,marital status,reading,doing household work and chronic disease were all the influencing factors correlated with FAQ scores in MCI (t/F =8.904,2.744,-2.650,-1.252,4.269,7.309,respectively; P < 0.05).Conclusions Cognitive impairment leads to FAQ deficits in patients with MCI.And corresponding nursing should be give according to difference age,education degree,marital status,reading,doing household work and chronic disease.
