Abstract
Abstract Functional form specification is a central aspect of empirical demand analysis. Our primary objective in this chapter is to elucidate the relationships among particular parametric forms by showing that particular functional forms can be viewed as members of families or classes of functional forms. Our secondary objective is to demonstrate how particular forms can be constructed from a set of basic building blocks.
