Abstract
The purpose of this article is to outline a series of brief physical measures (heart rate, blood pressure, body composition, aerobic fitness, upper body musculoskeletal fitness, and lower extremity function), that in combination, function as a quick and easy to administer assessment of health-related functional fitness for elderly and clinical populations. The assessment results are intended to provide health practitioners with valuable information concerning the current health status, as well as the functional abilities of their clients to facilitate individualized counselling and safe and appropriate exercise prescription.
