Abstract
Background: The objective of breast reconstruction (BR) is to erase the after-effects of total mastectomy by allowing patients to restore their breast shape. Traditionally, patient satisfaction with BR has been assessed subjectively using validated questionnaires, which focuses on esthetics and quality of life elements. Varying levels of satisfaction are reported in the litterature depending on whether the breast reconstruction is autologous or implant-based, immediate or delayed. fMRI is a non-irradiating examination that helps visualize the activation of brain areas during the performance of various tasks.
