The patient is a 78-year-old white (non-Hispanic) male. The module follows him over time, focusing on how his functional status is affected by changes that are both intrinsic and extrinsic to the progression of the disease itself. Educational Objectives By the end of this module, learners will be able to: Determine a patient's level of function in terms of the activities of daily living.Utilize tools and methods to assess a patient's physical abilities.Utilize tools and methods to assess a patient's cognitive abilities.Determine a patient's level of motivation.Identify the individual and societal opportunities available to a patient.Formulate a plan for maximizing the patient's functioning and quality of life.
