Abstract
In this paper, a novel mixed-mode universal filter using a single new active device namely specific current feedback operational amplifier (SCFOA) is suggested. Mixed-mode called as dual-mode can provide either current-mode (CM) or voltage-mode (VM) responses with relevant input port selections. The proposed CM filter can simultaneously realize low-pass, band-pass and notch filter responses, and can provide high-pass and all-pass filter responses with interconnection of the relevant output currents. Further, the VM filter selection can provide universal filter responses. The CM and VM biquads offer independent control of angular resonance frequency ( ω 0 ) and quality factor ( Q ), and have low active and passive component sensitivities. However, CM filter is more suitable for integrated circuit (IC) process because of consisting of only grounded passive elements. A number of computer simulations by means of SPICE program are included to confirm the claimed theory.
