Abstract

Structure safety and construction schedule of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) gravity dam are influenced significantly by dynamic temperature of dam during construction process and group effect of the whole dam sections is difficult to be taken into account by structure safety simulation of single dam section. By establishing the dynamic mapping relationship between the set of construction state and the set of simulation state of the three dimension and full-scale numerical simulation model, a method of three dimension and full-scale dynamic simulation for structure safety and schedule coupling during construction process is built, taking into account mutual influence between schedule and structure safety during construction process of dam section groups. The method is used to dynamically analyze structure safety under any construction schedule status of dam. Meanwhile, VTK is utilized to realize three dimension and full-scale dynamic visualization for structure safety and schedule status coupling of RCC gravity dam during construction process. Finally, a three dimension and full-scale dynamic simulation and visualization system for structure safety and schedule coupling of RCC gravity dam is developed with C#.Net and APDL. The case study shows that the system can quickly and conveniently provide a dynamic and continuous change process of visage and information for structure safety and schedule and a visual tracking analysis for information of temperature control indexes of dam section groups under proposed construction scheme for decision makers.
