Abstract

Thin-Film Solar Cells In article number 2000524, Yue Yang and co-workers propose a composite light-trapping structure with a double-layer antireflection coating on the upper surface and Ag hemispheres on the substrate to achieve full-spectrum absorption enhancement in a-Si:H thin-film solar cells. The short-circuit current density and photoelectric conversion efficiency are improved by ∽40% compared to a 100-nm-thick bare cell and increasing the cell thickness to 400 nm could even approach the theoretical absorption limit.
