Abstract

Full-scale measurements of wind pressures have been carried out on a high-rise building situated in an urban area and having an almost rectangular plan. Twenty pressure transducers were set up on the surface of the building. In this paper, the results of measurements of the wind pressures acting on the windward and leeward faces of the building in a nearly face-on wind are summarised. From many data, an attempt has been made to extract values typical of the quantities observed. Pressure coefficients, probability distributions, peak factors, power spectra and coherences are presented.
