Abstract

Radio over Fiber (RoF) technology allows modulating the radio frequency subcarrier on to an optical carrier for distribution over an optical fiber network. Optical single sideband enables the effective utilization of bandwidth in optical fiber. When optical fiber is used for distribution of radio signals, low attenuation loss, high bandwidth and high capacity signal transmission are made possible. Different systems like Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), Subcarrier Multiplexing (SCM) have been used in order to enhance the efficiency of RoF system. Fiber Bragg Gratings can be employed for making the RoF system full duplex. In this paper, a cost effective full duplex SCM with OSSB has been proposed. All the simulations are done in Optisystem.
