Abstract

Prior to her death, Catherine Sanders was interested in modifying her earlier work on the phases of grief. She had begun to explore the conceptualization of a sixth phase of the grieving process that she tentatively termed fulfillment. This conceptualization not only reflected her research but her own personal grief journey. This article both presents Sanders' early theorizing about this phase and places it in the context of her life and her life's work.
