Abstract

Colorectal cancer screening is a triumph of preventive medicine. Scientists, engineers, clinicians, and patients from around the world have seized on fundamental biological observations and pursued clinical studies, culminating in randomised controlled trials that demonstrate that screening can decrease colorectal cancer mortality through detection of early-stage colorectal cancer and prevention via polypectomy.1
