Abstract

Information about fuels is given, which are subdivided according to the area of application into automobile and aviation gasolines, tractor kerosenes, diesel and jet fuels. To improve the quality of fuel, it is advisable to use various additives: dispersant, anti-corrosion, anti-oxidation, flame retardant and anti-smoke additives. In recent years, developed countries have been using biofuels. It is shown that when using biofuels, compared to oil-based fuels, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by 60–95 %. Research and development work related to biofuels is also underway at the Institute of Chemistry of Additives after acad. A.M. Guliyev.
