Abstract
This article describes Sodeteg's activity in the field of test benches for fuel cell assessment. The company has produced several test benches for its own process developments in order to evaluate, optimise and qualify systems for further industrialisation. This experience has been applied to the design and manufacture of test stations for fuel cell assessment, either for customers or for its own use. These benches can be used for fuel cells fed with either hydrogen (PEMFCs) or methanol (DMFCs), and are designed to operate with air and/or oxygen. Several test benches have been made for single cell or stack assessment, in particular, for the European NEMECEL project for the design and demonstration of a 1 kW direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) with considerable marketing potential at industrial level.
