Abstract

On June 1, 2015, the China-Korea FTA was signed, making Weihai the first China-Korea FTA demonstration zone in China, which is inseparable from its prominent position in the history of China-Korea relations. Especially during the Tang Dynasty, the bilateral relationship between ancient Weihai and Silla was the most closely developed, and its specific role can be summarized as an important base for Silla's tribute and Tang Xin's joint military operations, an important port for diplomatic trade, and an important window for cultural exchange. This is also the historical origin and cultural motivation of Weihai and South Korea's geographical advantages, transportation advantages, economic and trade advantages, and cultural advantages under the context of China South Korea FTA. Weihai should leverage its own advantages, seize historical opportunities, and achieve greater development in areas such as economy, trade, culture, and tourism.
