Abstract
This paper discusses the use of frequency shift keying (FSK) modulation for radio communication of electronic information board implemented for tsunami early warning system. A radio communication with FSK modulation is employed since it was the one of robust communication technologies and the most reliable one. Furthermore, a radio transmission which has capability in wireless network is enable a quick reactivation when such emergency occurs, since the network infrastructures are vulnerable to such emergencies and tend to be destroyed. The information of tsunami disaster from the Local Disaster Relief Agency (Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah, BPBD) will be transmitted to the proposed system which displays the tsunami disaster warning visually. The characterization of radio communication with FSK modulation has been performed in the laboratory and demonstrated the transmissibility of one frame data consist of 8 bits including start bit and stop bit within one second, in which this is adequate for the application of tsunami early warning system.
