Abstract

The effect of the nearest and next-nearest neighbouring anisotropy parameters on the stability of different phases, for the frustrated quantum spin- 1 2 antiferromagnetic anisotropic Heisenberg model on a square lattice, is investigated using a linear spin-wave theory. There exists a critical anisotropy where the disordered phase disappears. Known results of the isotropic case have also been obtained.
