Abstract
The main aim in fruit breeding (apple, pear, plum, cherry-plum, sour cherry and sweet cherry) in Belarus is winterhardiness and high fruit yielding. Great success was achieved in apple and pear breeding for resistance to fungi and long term storage, bacterial canker and scab. Winterhardy varieties of stone fruit crops were selected. The most important varieties of apple, pear, plum, cherry-plum, sour cherry and sweet cherry are described.
