Fruit Fly Attack On Intercropping Plants

Abstract

Fruit fly was a major pest in red pepper plant. This pest can cause minor to serious damage if not controlled. There are several fruit fly species which known in Indonesia. The objectives of this research was to know the species and population abundance of fruit fly on intercropping plants area in Garut distric, West Java. The modified Steiner trap was used in several areal spot to collect this pest. and to identified the species, the delta Intkey software used. The result showed that fluctuation of population abundance occurred in the field and the result of species identification showed that all of the fruit fly which trapped was Bactrocera dorsalis.
