Abstract

Fructose solutions were injected into pigs of from a few hours to 17 days of age and the rate of subsequent fall in plasma fructose concentration measured. The rate of fall, which in each experiment was approximately proportional to plasma fructose level, increased with age, being too small to observe in the first day of life.
