Abstract

The various loading in different cases will result in different columns made of reinforced concrete having a unique behavior within the scope of bearing capacity of columns. Fiber-reinforced polymers sheets can be put to use for wrapping or jacketing columns cross-sections with determined adhesive providing confinement resulting in increasing the load-carrying capacity of the strengthened columns. Retrofitting with fiber-reinforced polymeric materials with desired qualities is a great way to replace traditional materials like steel jacketing or adding fresh concrete to the sections of reinforced concrete columns. Traditional conventional methods are effective, but labor-consuming and mainly result in a significant cross-section growth. At the same time, the fiber-reinforced polymers wrapping technology has shown to be timeeffective, more appropriate, and linked with the country's contemporary architecture. The effect of the reinforced concrete columns section will also be a target and part of the analysis in this paper. Increasing the bearing capacity can lead to seismic damage of deficient and improve the ductility and energy absorption capacity.
