Abstract

f-Block elements exhibit unique coordination chemistry in molten salts, which arouse increasing research efforts due to the demands for separation and recovery of these elements via molten salt-based pyrochemical approaches. Although challenging, with the assistance of advanced high-temperature characterization techniques and theoretical calculations, coordination behaviors of f-block elements, such as chemical species, coordination structures, and their evolutions in molten salt, can be understood in a clearer manner. Read more about f-block elements coordination chemistry in molten salts in the Review article by Y. Liu, W. Shi et al (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202201145).
