Abstract
Formation of stable metallacycles through the generation of metal-carbon covalent bonds by activating unreactive Csp2-H or Csp3-H bonds, enhances the applicability scope of metal complexes, especially in the area of homogeneous catalysis. Recent developments in the arena of CNHC^C cyclometalated transition metal complexes, including synthesis and catalytic applications, are described in the Minireview by A. Rit and co-workers on page 16581 ff.
