Abstract

The binding cavities of ODDs fine-tune the selectivities of catalysed reactions by precise positioning of the substrate with respect to the iron cofactor and by specific cavity-substrate interactions. The latter may outweigh the steric effects and the inherent reaction propensity of the reactants and thus settle product selectivity. For more information, see the Review by Z. Wojdyla and T. Borowski (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202104106).
