Abstract
In their Review article (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202300044), Liu, Yan and colleagues summarize the molecular design and functional mechanism of crown ether-derived ion transporters including unimolecular transporters, self-assembled transporters, intelligent transporters, and molecular machine-based ion transporters. Potential applications in the areas of channelopathies, antibiosis, and anticancer are also elaborated. Some challenges encountered in this field are presented and some possible solutions are provided.
