Abstract

Frontal sinus stenting has been utilized to help maintain the patency of the frontal sinus outflow tract after sinus surgery. Originally described in conjunction with open approaches to the frontal sinus, stenting of the frontal recess is an option with endoscopic approaches to the frontal sinus, either at the time of surgery or in the postoperative period. This chapter reviews the history of frontal sinus stents as well as evidence on the use of stents during or after endoscopic sinus surgery.
