The Budapest Cocktail Lounge, featured prominently in the spread, was a key music venue in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in the late 1990s. The Buda Bootlegs, highlighting bands that frequented the Budapest such as Spiral Jetty, Buzzkill, The Blisters, and Chris Harford & the Band of Changes, were recorded on portable cassette player at the venue. Through the lens of the New Brunswick Music Scene Archive, Christine A. Lutz discusses building local music archives and connecting with donors by engaging the scenes approach from popular music studies in “ Making a Scene: A Scenes Approach to a Local Music Archives.” Photo courtesy of Franklin Bridges.
