Abstract

The super microscope illustrates the power of super resolution microscopy to provide unprecedented insight into RNA biology. Beyond sequence, the function of these biomolecules is linked to their localization. Single molecule localization microscopy (SMLM) has the power to decipher this crucial feature at nanometric resolution. However, this capability relies on the design of molecular recognition systems to bring the right label to the right RNA with minimal artifacts. We hope that our review inspires researchers to develop creative RNA labeling approaches that leverage the power of SMLM. Design by B. Arnould and A. Quillin.
