Abstract
The Front Cover illustrates the use of renewable 5-hydroxymethylfurfural as the aldehyde component in the GBB-3CR multicomponent reaction under environmentally friendly conditions. The new imidazole heterocycles obtained under mild conditions could contribute to exploring the so-called renewable chemical space. Subsequent transformations on the hydroxymethylfuran moiety present in the GBB products will broaden the molecular diversity. Cover picture created with the help of Santiago Porcal.
