Abstract

The cover picture shows a novel 3D lanthanide supramolecular framework with homochiral 1D channels that have self-assembled from a discrete mononuclear species [Ln(tpa)3(H2O)3] through complementary hydrogen bonding interactions. Such 1D channels of suitable sizes, shapes, and functional sites can accommodate organic compounds like 2-thiopheneacrylic acid to allow the formation of cocrystals. The present work demonstrates not only the importance of producing novel supramolecular coordination materials but may also be helpful in developing a fundamental understanding of self-assembly processes and host-guest chemistry (DOI: 10.1002/zaac.202100297).
