Abstract

The Front Cover shows how the Cotton effect of the ligand field transitions in the CD spectra of the 4N Cu(II)−PrP(92–99) complex with G94LA (blue) is reversed by the G94DA substitution (red). Theoretical studies indicate that this is due to the geometric distortion from planarity that the complex suffers by the D-stereoisomer substitution. The cover is decorated with artwork (by Naila Qureshi Quintanar – IG@nq.arts) of two axolotls that are mirror images of each other, as the CD spectra of the Cu−PrP complexes. Axolotls are endangered paedomorphic salamanders originally found in lakes surrounding Mexico City. More information can be found in the Full Paper by A. Vela, L. Quintanar and co-workers.
