Front Cover: Facile, Single‐Step Synthesis of a Series of D‐Ring Ethisterones Substituted with 1,4‐1,2,3‐Triazoles: Preliminary Evaluation of Cytotoxic Activities (ChemMedChem 8/2023)

Abstract

The Front Cover shows a graphic description of the facile, single-step syntheses of a series of ethisterone 1,4,1,2,3-triazole derivatives (X=H, F, Cl, Br, I, O-Ph-4-CH3) with promising anticancer activities. This is complemented by a DNA-docking-simulation graphically showing one of these compounds interacting with DNA through crosslink intrastrand π-alkyl like interactions. Finally, the cover also illustrates the cytotoxic effect on leukemia cells (violet) (K562) from blood where the best compound of the series performed better.
