Abstract

The cover shows an artistic concept describing an evolutional approach to the generation of dynamic inhibitors and activators of Carbonic Anhydrase on both the molecular and supramolecular levels through the implementation of reversible covalent reactions and non-covalent intermolecular interactions within inner active catalytic center and on the outer enzyme microenvironment, respectively. They open up wide perspectives to construct a fundamental transition from molecular/supramolecular medicinal chemistry design toward constitutional self-selection CDC strategies, for the discovery of powerful drug molecules and of dynamic polymers for efficient enzyme encapsulation for CO2 capture applications, respectively. More information can be found in the Minireview by M. Barboiu and co-workers.
