Abstract
Helical patterns around gold cores like propeller blades and spiral staircases are conceptually presented to describe the geometric features of ligand shells in the chiral gold clusters with crosslinking-ligand environments. Besides such geometric constructions, insights into the atomic-level origins of their chiroptical activities are provided from computational studies using numerical and theoretical approaches.
