Abstract

A supramolecular halide catcher catches chloride exclusively from an aqueous solution containing the biologically most abundant essential anions. Multiple noncovalent interactions are involved in the deep enclosure of the designer self-assembled coordination cage for chloride binding. Impressively, chloride is captured with up to nanomolar affinity in aqueous solutions. More information can be found in the Research Article by D. K.
