Abstract

The rubric «Best practices of social work» covers interesting events, important achievements, unique life experience of both higher education institutions that train future social workers and social institutions that provide social services in the community. The current issue of the section «Best Practices of Social Work» contains materials covering the experience of the city of Uman, Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University on interesting forms of educational activities in the process of future social workers' training and the Department of Labor and Social Protection of Uman City Council on social work with children and youth in the community. Among the innovative forms of social education and best practices of social work there are British Council programs «Active Citizens», «Student Action»; personal and professional development program «State Creator»; Regional competition of student and student research papers on gender «Seven from A to Z»; inclusive groups for students of Uman State Pedagogical University named after Pavel Tychyna; activity of the team of psychological and pedagogical support of students with special educational needs; canine therapy as an innovative direction of rehabilitation of people with disabilities; innovative project for students – Skills Hub; initiative projects «Youth Center» START «open space for students», «Community friendly to children and youth», «Studio of a successful entrant»; social projects «New Year's residence of St. Nicholas», «16 days against violence», «Affordable tourism»; festival of creativity «We are equal. You and I will be together «and others. This column is a platform for the presentation of innovative forms of social education and best practices of social support for vulnerable populations, for the exchange of experience between scientists and professionals in this field, for public recognition of achievements and encouragement for further development of effective technologies for citizens' social welfare in Ukraine.
