Abstract

The two authors have worked on related problems from different points of view. B.D. uses the Peierls bracket and Schwinger’s variational principle to define functional integration. C.D. considers functional integrals as mathematical objects in their own right, useful, in particular, in Quantum Physics. The article constitutes a first point of contact between the contributions of both authors to functional integration.
