Abstract

For this edition of From the Pages of AllergyWatch, I have selected reviews relating to childhood allergies and food allergens relating to the theme of this month's Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. The first article, with comments from Dr Lee, presented data showing that Ara h 2 specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) has a lower rate of false positivity in children evaluated for peanut allergy. The next article, with comments from Dr Knox, reported that there was no association between intrapartum antibiotic treatment and subsequent development of allergies in childhood.
