Abstract
I ran into Jack Weyand at an LCT open house. Jack is an active tennis player and still consults now and then. He has been with Sidney Schafer and Associates since the early ‘50s. Sid started the Geophysical Directory. Its first issue was sent out as complementary copies. It was originally a garage-type operation but grew over the years into an excellent, much needed publication of several hundred pages. I am not sure how we would operate without it. Sid is in his 80s and Jack is almost 70. Jack and his wife Mary Alice live in Houston but spend half their time on Galveston Island with tennis courts close by and a golf course out the back door.
