Abstract

It is a great honor to take over as Chief Editors of the Socio-Economic Review. We both have been long-term active contributors to SASE and great fans of the journal. In our first editorial, we will introduce ourselves and share our vision for the future of the journal and the new initiatives we would like to pursue. What makes this job both easy and impossibly hard is that we are replacing Gregory Jackson, who led the journal as Chief Editor since 2013. Jackson is leaving the journal in excellent shape: under his leadership, SER became one of the leading journals in multiple disciplines. Launched in 2003, SER got its impact factor only in 2011, and today, it is among the very top journals in sociology, political science and ranked high in economics.
