Abstract

This paper shows the results of the research fellowship project “Citta Inclusiva/Citta Sicura” 1 aimed at defining strategies to promote urban safety. The research project used a specific methodological approach to implement a prototype model for urban safety management. It proposed the development of an action plan for a model of inclusive and safe city drawing on the French ESSP (Public Safety and Security Studies). The plan includes a series of actions of spatial and functional regeneration of the existing assets optimizing the relationship with the new infrastructures of dialogue and reception. Furthermore, it could contribute to solving the problems related to the physical, technological and environmental adaptation of urban contexts.
