Abstract

ABSTRACT For years, the public and private sectors have been celebrating entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs have been lauded as job creators, innovators and market-niche experts, all elements important in a capitalistic society. Individually, business ownership has been perceived as a means to job satisfaction and a way to bypass systemic discrimination against women in corporations. The facts of small-business ownership reveal a dark side, particularly for women entrepreneurs.
