Abstract
As this year, and this volume of Epilepsia, draws to a close, the Editors-in-Chief of Epilepsia would once again like to take this opportunity to thank the many individuals who have contributed so importantly to the Journal. As we wrote in a previous editorial, the Impact Factor for Epilepsia has for the first time risen above 4. That achievement reflects obviously on the excellent work of our authors. But there are many others, behind the scenes, who make it possible for us to continue to publish high-quality work. We are grateful to our Editorial Board and to the many other experts in the epilepsy field who volunteer their time to review manuscripts for the Journal. As many of you know, Epilepsia and Wiley-Blackwell offer ‘Reviewer Rewards” to those who review most frequently; the frequent reviewers for this past year are listed below. We remain particularly indebted to our Associate Editors, who are critically involved in maintaining high criteria for the manuscripts that appear in Epilepsia. The Associate Editors for the past year are: Production of Epilepsia is a complex challenge and requires the coordinated efforts of many people. We offer our sincere thanks to the staff at our publisher, Wiley-Blackwell, for their dedication to this enterprise. ILAE has entered into a new contract with W-B, and we look forward to working with the W-B team for several years to come. We acknowledge, especially, the contribution of Alison Labbate, our Publisher, and the careful, tireless and patient work of Cathy Krendel, our Production Editor. Within the Epilepsia editorial offices, important contributions have been made by Elizabeth Mobayed (who designs all our covers) and by Laurie Beninsig (who has coordinated materials submitted for our supplements, has overseen figure quality and consistency, and will be stepping into the role of Managing Editor – see below). Most of all, on behalf of the Epilepsia community, the Editors-in-Chief would like to thank Alison Alsmeyer for her outstanding work as Managing Editor. Many of you who contribute to, or review for, the Journal “know” Alison. She has been a steady guiding hand in every aspect of Journal production – a support for authors and reviewers and an “always there” resource for the editors. She has been instrumental in leading us through a number of changes that the Journal has made over the past years, and the current success of Epilepsia reflects her many contributions. Alison has stepped down from her position to pursue other, more exciting challenges. We will sorely miss her and wish her the best of luck. Thank you! Massimo Avoli Tallie Z.
