Abstract

We are pleased to announce that the Journal has just been accepted for MEDLINE indexing! MEDLINE is the principal online bibliographic citation database of the National Library of Medicine's MEDLARS system and is used internationally to provide access to the world's biomedical journal literature. The decision for indexing is made by the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee (LSTRC) through a process of evaluating the Journal's quality and originality. The process is highly competitive, very much likened to selection for research grant funding. Critical elements leading to a favorable indexing decision include the Journal's scope and coverage, quality of content, quality of editorial work, production quality, audience, and type of content. Effective immediately, the contents of JCCT will be retrievable through MEDLINE (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/), including its contents retroactive to the inception of JCCT (July 2007). MEDLINE indexing is a great accomplishment and will greatly enhance access to and the effect of the important work published in the Journal! Congratulations to SCCT, Elsevier, and to the Editorial Team (Anna Leong, David Dionne, and Linda Bass) for their contributions to this auspicious accomplishment!
