Abstract

Greetings! I am happy to report that the ACM- SIGMIS CPR (Computer Personnel Research) 2003 Conference held in Philadelphia, PA, April 10- 12, 2003 was a success! Please join me in extending a warm thank you to the members of the Conference Committee for all their efforts: Conference Chair: Munir Mandviwalla, Temple University (mandviwa@ temple. edu) Program Chair: Eileen Trauth, The Pennsylvania State University (etrauth@ ist. psu. edu) Conference Treasurer: Diane Lending, James Madison University (lendindc@ jmu. edu) Publicity Chair: Sandra Slaughter, Carnegie Mellon University (sandras@ andrew. cmu. edu) Local Arrangements Chair: Anat Hovav, Temple University (ahovav@ sbm. temple. edu) The first annual SIGMIS/ CPR Business Meeting, for the merged SIGs, was held on Saturday afternoon, immediately after the close of the conference. Discussions centered on consolidating the newly joined SIGMIS/ CPR. Fred Niederman continues in his role as CPR Committee Chair. Diane Lending is the newly appointed Information Director. Special sections in Data Base will be devoted to CPR. Finally, SIGMIS is committed to preserving and developing the CPR Conference.A Preliminary Outcome Report for the CPR 2003 Conference was presented by Munir Mandviwalla, CPR 2003 Conference Chair. A Progress Report for the CPR 2004 Conference was given by Suzie Weisband, CPR 2004 Program Chair. A Progress Report, on naming the Best Paper Award at the CPR conference for Magid Igbaria, was presented by Fred Niederman.Plans for next year's CPR 2004 Conference, to be held in Arizona, are now underway. All members are welcome.
