Abstract

Summary The author reports on the development and rollout of an IPC training concept for health-care workers in Nigeria. Knowledge and competence with respect to infection control should be conveyed in a way that makes them relevant for improved behavioral practice in day-to-day hospital work. In order to achieve this, a participative training concept is combined with TCI’s Four-Factor-Model. The training measure was applied during a pilot project in Lagos for Nigerian health-care professionals in 2018/19. It showed that the Four-Factor-Model is eminently suited to reflecting and processing the complex reality of hospitals. This training approach is currently being further developed with a view to applying it in the whole of Nigeria.
